Disneyland at Christmas 2026: The Complete Guide

Disney just confirmed it, and then changed it again. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort was originally set to split its start date, Disney California Adventure kicking off November 13 with Disneyland Park following five days later. That plan is gone. As of a July 24 update, Disney moved the whole resort to one unified start date. Every corner of the resort, both parks, Downtown Disney, and the hotels, now flips over to holiday mode on the same day: November 13, 2026, running through January 6, 2027. When It Actually Runs

No split schedule this year. Everything goes up on the same date.

The full resort, both parks, Downtown Disney District, and the hotels, runs November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027.

That’s a change from Disney’s original December 2025 announcement, which had Disneyland Park opening five days after DCA. If you saw that split date anywhere else, including earlier in our own coverage, it’s outdated. Everything is unified now.

Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle — every evening, the castle transforms with icicle lighting and a seasonal lighting sequence. One of the most photographed spots in the entire resort during this window.

New character attire — Mickey, Minnie, and friends appear in Christmas-specific outfits for the season, distinct from their Halloween Time looks.

Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends — a live show at the Fantasyland Theatre built around festive activities and character appearances.

Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl — the seasonal overlay of Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters in Cars Land.

Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail — the same trail that hosts Villains Grove during Halloween transforms again for the holidays, with seasonal games and a dedicated Santa meet-and-greet. Exact 2026 dates hadn’t been separately confirmed as of this writing, expect it to align closely with the broader holiday season window.

Beyond the Parks: Downtown Disney & Hotels

The season extends past the gates if you’re staying on property or just passing through:

Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Grand Californian Hotel & Spa — each dresses for the season with its own decor and seasonal touches throughout the lobby and grounds.
Downtown Disney District — general holiday decor plus seasonal shopping and dining, check the district’s own event page closer to your visit for anything added this year.

Practical Planning Notes

Book dining and any paid experiences well ahead of your visit. Character dining, the guided holiday tour, and popular table-service spots fill early across the entire season.
Arrive at rope drop regardless of when you visit. Even the calmest week of the holiday season runs busier than a typical non-holiday day.
Layer your day plan. A lot of the season’s best moments, Wintertime Enchantment, the fireworks, the small world projection show, happen after dark. Plan for a full day that carries into the evening rather than an early exit.
Check exact showtimes the day of your visit. Fireworks and nighttime shows shift with sunset and park hours across the season, the Disneyland app has the current schedule.
