If your crew has little kids, Fantasyland is the single best place to spend your first two hours at Disneyland. It’s the highest concentration of no-height-requirement rides anywhere in the resort, which means everyone in your family can ride together without splitting up.
The One Real Decision: Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight is the land’s ceiling breaker. Waits climb past 45 minutes for most of the day, and even a rope drop arrival usually means 20 to 30 minutes in line.
You’ve got two honest options:
Ride it first. If Peter Pan’s Flight is a must-do, walk straight there off rope drop. You’ll spend a chunk of your first 30 minutes in that one line, but you’ll have it done.
Skip it early, come back later. If you’d rather rack up more total rides in your first two hours, bypass Peter Pan’s Flight at open and work through the rest of the land first. You can circle back once the initial rope drop surge settles, usually by late morning, or accept a longer wait as part of the tradeoff.
Neither is wrong. It depends on whether one ride or ride count matters more to your morning.
Ride Order for the Rest of Fantasyland
Once you’ve made the Peter Pan’s Flight call, work through the rest of the land in whatever order keeps you moving instead of backtracking:
- Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- Snow White’s Enchanted WishMad Tea Party
- King Arthur Carrousel
- Casey Jr. Circus Train
- Storybook Land Canal Boats
- Mad Tea Party
- Alice in Wonderland
- “it’s a small world”
None of these carry a height requirement, so babies and toddlers ride right alongside everyone else.
Matterhorn Bobsleds sits at the edge of Fantasyland and is worth adding if your child clears the height requirement. It’s also one of the resort’s Single Rider attractions, so if your group splits up, this is a good spot to use that line.
Setting Up Lightning Lane While You’re Here
Matterhorn Bobsleds and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway both tend to sell out their Lightning Lane Multi Pass windows fast. If either is on your list, check the Tip Board for a return time as soon as you scan into the park, even before you get in your first standby line. Book a return window for later in the morning or afternoon and keep working through Fantasyland’s standby lines while you wait.
