Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab are both officially confirmed for a 2028 opening. Disney showed first-look concept art of Infinity Defense’s pre-mission briefing area during the D23 presentation, giving fans an early look at the on-screen setup before the ride itself.
Specific ride mechanics, vehicle types, and full storylines have not been detailed publicly. What’s confirmed is the timeline and the returning cast.
The Cast Is Back
This is the part fans are most excited about. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, and Brie Larson are all reprising their roles for the new attractions. That’s Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Falcon (or Captain America, depending on where the story lands them), and Captain Marvel all appearing on screen again for this expansion.
For a campus that’s leaned heavily on rotating stunt performances and screen-based cameos since it opened in 2021, bringing back this many original actors is a signal Disney is investing seriously in this next phase.
What This Means for the Campus Today
Nothing changes about your visit in the next couple of years. Web Slingers, the Guardians’ Mission: BREAKOUT!, and the current dining and shopping lineup all continue operating as normal while construction ramps up. Expect to see walls and construction walkways appear as 2028 gets closer, similar to how Cars Land or Avengers Campus itself was built out in phases.
Where This Fits in Disney’s Bigger DCA Plan
Avengers Campus expanding is part of a broader pattern in Disney’s Anaheim investment right now. Combined with the Coco attraction in development and Tomorrowland’s reimagining announced at the same event, DCA and Disneyland Park are both mid-cycle on multi-year builds. Avengers Campus is simply first in line, landing in 2028 ahead of Tomorrowland’s estimated 2030 window.
